BaconX is our department for Finishing and Visual Effects. Commercials and music promos has become so depending on visual FX that we felt it was time to found an in-house division that could work closely with the directors, not only in the production, but also in bidding and treating the different jobs that comes to a shop like BACON. The only persons we wanted as head of this division was our favorite FX artists Jonas Drehn & Jan Tvilling… so we asked them politely – and somehow they said yes. So today, BACON and BaconX is a fully integrated unit that works together on projects including any means of digital FX work – from the initial birdie idea to the full campaign in question.
We consider ourselves being in the entertainment industry – not in computer sciences. It might sound obvious, but it helps keep our focus at what we do be best – tell stories and entertain people based on good ideas – and not just focus at “la technique de jour”.
